Andy is a self taught chef, learning most of his skills from many amazing chefs he has had the pleasure to work with through out his career, and gaining most of his passion from travelling the world (Italy particularly). Most recently, Andy's CV has him as the former Head Chef of Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall, in that position for 9 years, and before that at the flagship restaurant Fifteen London.
During his time at Fifteen Cornwall he designed menus and food concepts that satisfied the hunger of over 3/4 of a million guests. Alongside overseeing the award winning restaurant he also oversaw the apprentice chef training programme that had, to date, graduated 101 young chefs through the programme into the industry.
Andy left Fifteen in February 2016 to start Appleton’s at the Vineyard, a huge leap of faith and his first venture on his own!

For Andy, food is about more than the recipes – it’s a whole attitude and lifestyle that makes great food the focus of every day.
It’s about sourcing the best seasonal ingredients at their peak, and letting them do the talking without unnecessary clutter and complexity.
Taking rustic, Italian dishes and adding a contemporary twist, Andy creates unique menus that bring the best of Italy and Cornwall together on a plate.
Andy uses some specialist exciting ingredients from Italy but primarily the best of the west and using many local producers to support the local economy, the Vineyard has its own herb and vegetable kitchen garden and rears its own lamb for him to use, taking the sourcing ethos of using produce on his doorstep, very literally!
A sample menu is attached to give you an idea of the type of food you can expect to see but the menu changes very frequently dependant on what is seasonally best and locally available. We offer an a la carte menu for both lunch and dinner and we serve brunch on a sunday. (Please note we ONLY serve our brunch menu on a Sunday)
Trevibban Mill currently produce 9 wines - Red; Rose; White and Sparkling aswell as 3 ciders
Your dog is as welcome as you are for Brunch, Lunch or Dinner, inside the restaurant and on the terrace, all year round.
All we ask is that they remain on a lead when with us and of course, under your supervision.
Dress code is optional - Gnocchi just wanted to make an effort for his photo on the web page!
